Depression is a mental health disorder that affects mood, including how you feel, think, and behave. Everyone feels sad sometimes, but when it starts to affect your ability to perform daily tasks and your ability to enjoy things that typically bring you happiness, you may be suffering from depression. The symptoms of depression vary from person to person, but often include feeling miserable without a clear reason why, anxiety, agitation, insomnia or sleeping too much, hopelessness, changes in eating, and/or foggy thinking. Depression may also cause recurrent thoughts of death or suicide (or even a wish that it would all 'stop' in an abstract sense). If you think you might be suffering from depression, a qualified mental health therapist can help. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s depression experts today!
Life is stressful! The American Psychological Association (2022) in their Stress in America survey found that three-quarters of adults (76%) said they have experienced health impacts due to stress in the prior month, including headache (38%), fatigue (35%), feeling nervous or anxious (34%), and/or feeling depressed or sad (33%). Together we can identify ways to reduce the stress in your life and develop ways to find more time to do the things that matter to you.

I am drawn to working with families, namely parents and their children, as well as individuals. My knowledge exists primarily in navigating issues of trauma, grief, conflict, identity, and development of self. Supporting individuals who have experienced trauma calls for examinations of power, control, narrative, and accountability. These are all topics that I aim to lean into in my role, coupled with managing anxiety and maintaining agency in the face of fear.
In my years of practice I have found a collaborative strengths-based approach promotes the best environment for therapeutic work, creative problem solving, and lasting change. I love to meet my clients where they are, help develop their readiness and equip them for their next steps. I offer guidance and encouragement as they build competency, comfort, and confidence in their new skills and life direction. To do this, I operate from a foundation of systemic thinking.

You're here! Congrats on making it this far! Most people I know think about going to therapy for months- sometimes years before they do this internet search. The next step is sending that e-mail, but don't worry you'll get there- take your time. Typically the people I work with are at a point where they are feeling really stuck, and just want to be happy. The couples who come all have a common trend that they need help with communication.

Our experiences demand a witness to what we have gone through. I am committed to creating a warm, safe, trusting, caring, and non-judgmental space. This will allow you to be heard but also to challenge you to think or act differently. The systemic and biopsychosocial approach that I utilize will help you to better understand the impact your emotions have on your body and how your thoughts and feelings shape your relationships.
Life can be a challenging process. You don't have to tackle life's problems alone. Sometimes we need some extra help to be the best version of ourselves. The process begins by identifying barriers that are blocking us from achieving our desired goals. Life is an ongoing journey. Therapy can increase our self-awareness and improve our overall health and well-being. I welcome you - with open arms - to begin the therapeutic process and begin to look at those obstacles in life.
