About My Clients
My clients are compassionate, empathetic, and kind to everyone--except themselves. They say mean things to themselves on a daily basis that they would -never!- say to another person. They're tired of living with their own worst critic in their head all day--it's exhausting.
My Background and Approach
I'm passionate about working with people who want to evict their inner critic, but who still want to succeed in work or school. I'm all about examining our anxieties, how they help us, how they keep us stuck, and how we can make them work for us instead of against us. I know your anxiety comes from an important place: your values. You want to succeed, so you push yourself to the point of burnout. You want to do things well, so you find it intimidating to get started. You want to be selfless and low-maintenance, so you find it difficult to get your needs met in relationships. Let's talk about how to get balance back in your life, how to feel fulfilled at work, in your relationships, and with yourself. We can discuss what you can do with that pesky critical voice you have that second guesses your every move--and how you can take away its power.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I specialize in working with adults who struggle with anxiety, stress, and perfectionism. I’m also EMDR-trained and have a special place in my heart for helping those who have experienced trauma. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to the therapy process and that we work best when we meet human to human. I incorporate evidence-based strategies into my sessions that draw from research in attachment, trauma, and how we can rewire our brains to feel calmer and more at-ease when life throws us curveballs. I believe that therapy can be playful, creative, and refreshing, in addition to being life changing--I know it has been for me. You've already taken a huge first step in deciding you're curious about what therapy has to offer. Contact me for a free initial consultation and let's talk more about how I can help.
