About My Clients
Shina supports adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She has a particular interest in childhood and relational trauma, perinatal mental health, parenting challenges, and the ways past experiences shape how we see ourselves and relate to others. She also works closely with Asian American and minority clients facing family conflict, cultural expectations, language barriers, perfectionism, and identity challenges.
My Background and Approach
As an EMDR-certified therapist, Shina incorporates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process distressing experiences and explore the beliefs they may have developed about themselves as a result. She also draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed parts work, mindfulness, and somatic approaches. Shina’s approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in the therapeutic relationship. She strives to create a space where clients feel safe to show up authentically, explore difficult emotions without judgment, and move at a pace that feels supportive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Shina believes that healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. She recognizes that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when it means opening up about experiences or emotions that have been difficult to face. Her hope is to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can show up exactly as you are, without pressure to have everything figured out. Above all, Shina wants you to know that your past is a part of your story, but it does not have to define your future. Healing is not always a straight path, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to growth. Wherever you are in your journey, Shina hopes to walk alongside you with compassion, patience, and understanding. Her goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself, find peace with your past, and move forward toward a life that feels more authentic, fulfilling, and true to who you are.
