About My Clients

I specialize in working with couples who want to find their way back to each other. For some clients, this means getting support for relationship crises like infidelity, intimacy issues, or loneliness. For others, we work through difficult family patterns, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, fear of vulnerability, and/or hard life transitions. I also work with women to dismantle the harmful effects of diet culture through intuitive eating, Health at Every SizeĀ®, and improved body image.

My Background and Approach

You have important life stories and experiences, some of which are difficult to make sense of and leave you wondering, "How did I get here?" I help couples and individuals find clarity in themselves and in their relationships. Therapy is also a place where you learn to unravel difficult thought patterns, find resolutions for old problems, create healthy boundaries, and learn skills that lead to living a more intentional, meaningful life. With couples, we work toward honest and effective communication, conflict resolution, and increased relationship satisfaction. I also offer pre-marital counseling to prepare you for your next big adventure. To get a better sense of who I am, you can take a peek at my website, Instagram, or Facebook. Seeking support for what you are dealing with is a brave first step toward creating change in your life. Many clients have entrusted their stories to me; I look forward to hearing yours.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Hi, I'm Shelly! I'm honored to serve as a therapist in Fort Collins, Colorado. Our work together can help you find connection and, at the same time, help you feel seen. I am deeply committed to fostering authentic connections and building community through counseling. Together, we move toward meaningful change by first becoming aware of engrained habits, beliefs, and biases, and then putting action behind that awareness. I truly believe the best therapy sessions meet you right where you are - whether you need a good cry, a hearty laugh, or just an opportunity to process through whatever is on your mind. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I co-lead a women's retreat called "Wild Self" and co-facilitate a grief-support group. Outside of my work, you can find me hiking, biking, paddling, and generally just soaking up the magic of wild spaces. I love live music, belly laughs, dancing badly, a hot cup of coffee, and when science/nature/spirituality come together.
