I have worked with adults of varying ages who experience depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, complex trauma and PTSD, grief/loss, chronic stress, relationship difficulties, and Sports Performance. Our sessions will be a collaborative experience. My top priority is to create a judgment-free & safe environment. I have a flexible approach that is client-driven. My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Iowa & have over 6 years of experience in the field of social work & brain health. I have experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT), Complex Trauma Certification Levels 1 & 2 (CCTP I&II), and received a Professionals Certification in Teletherapy. My therapeutic approach might be different from other counselors. I believe each person is unique & requires a unique treatment plan. Along with evidence-based treatment models, I use a Brain Health approach instead of Mental Health, Behavioral Health, or Mental Illness. Brain Health integrates what you eat & drink, how much you exercise & sleep, the way you socialize, & how you manage stress. I believe Brain Health issues need to be treated the same as any other physical disease such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes. I became a therapist because, Being a therapist fulfills me by supporting people in their goals to grow, change & be authentic, while creating connection and fighting stigma. Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is: I offer teletherapy. Research has found that teletherapy is as effective as in-person therapy. Making teletherapy convenient, safe, and comfortable. More about me and my practice: I'm grounded in trust, & transparency. While using evidence-based treatment models, I use a holistic - Brain Health approach.
