About My Clients
My areas of expertise are working with Troubled Adolescents who have intense emotions and risky behaviors. I am able to connect on their level and see progress quickly. I also specialize in working with the Deaf and hard of hearing. I am skilled in ASL and understand Deaf culture. I respect the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I am proficient at assisting clients suffering from anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationship conflict, and building communication skills, self-esteem, and self-confidence.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Master's degree in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from UNLV in 1999. I am an AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor, and supervise graduate students and licensed state interns. I pursued my studies in American Sign Language while attending graduate school and have been signing for 26 years. My approach to relationships such as the one we are about to embark upon is of a gentle, kind, and respectful nature. I see my role as your therapist as a personal guide for your life journey. I am not a psychic and will not give you advice. I may offer suggestions and ask you to consider alternative ways of thinking, but I am not an expert on your life. You are! My job is to help you become more aware of the choices that you have, increase your ability to make more informed decisions, and empower you to eventually become your own therapist! I look forward to working with you and will speak with you soon.
