About My Clients
I primarily work with young adults/college age individuals as they navigate the transition into early adulthood! Every year after 18 is one that is full of challenges and new experiences which can get overwhelming at times - on top of it being a time full of self discovery and exploration! I am more than happy to have a space for you to navigate all the challenges that time may bring.
My Background and Approach
The tools I utilize in our sessions are ones I have most likely used myself in my own journey. The goal is to build a toolbox for you to use when times get tough and develop the skills to find new ones when those are just not cutting it! I believe everyone holds a level of resiliency within themselves but sometimes it can get a little lost. I tend to gravitate towards Narrative therapy, where the belief is that you are NOT your diagnosis - you are so many other things than just the anxiety or depression or grief that has happened to you. The power of the story you tell yourself is central to this mode of therapy and I would love the chance to work with you in re-writing that story.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone is capable of change and have the power within themselves to make a life that is worth living for themselves but sometimes we can get lost in the day to day of the world. I believe we all have a personal set of values in which we see and move through the world; values we wish to live up to. It is when we aren't living up to those values that strife and disappointment can move in - leading to bigger issues down the road.
