I am an art therapist and transpersonal counselor -- I love guiding clients toward growth and wholeness through deep images and experience.
Licensed Professional Counselor in Fort Collins, CO
My master's degree is in Transpersonal Counseling and Art Therapy from Naropa University, a Buddhist-inspired degree program. I have specific training in guiding clients to examine their relationship to the world, spiritual framework, and existential concerns. Regardless of your religious upbringing, I can work with you to help find meaning and truth in your experience.
In addition to my private practice, I also work at a non-profit organization specializing in working with clients with sexual abuse and assault histories. I have extensive training in this specific area and can help address cognitive, emotional and spiritual concerns following abuse. I help guide clients to gain more ways to cope with their experience and empower themselves in their lives.
I have extensive training in PTSD and trauma-informed care, and I specialize in treating adults with childhood trauma. I am trained in trauma-informed art therapy as well as EMDR. I take a neurodevelopmental perspective on trauma, and focus on helping to release trauma from the body, to work through unprocessed memories, and to help individuals learn to calm the nervous system and orient the mind when dealing with traumatic responses. Through my art therapy and transpersonal counseling perspective, I help clients to move through their trauma and work towards Post Traumatic Growth and resiliency.
I received my Master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling and Art Therapy. Transpersonal Counseling allows for exploration of soul purpose, spirituality and existential concerns in addition to processing thoughts and feelings in therapy. As a Transpersonal Counselor, I approach therapy from a whole-person and mindfulness-based perspective that meets you wherever you are at on your path.

I am an art therapist and received training through my Master's program in Transpersonal Counseling and Art Therapy. Therapeutic art-making can be a powerful addition to verbal processing in therapy, allowing you to externalize inner feelings in a deeper and more tangible way. Sometimes there are no words to describe an emotion -- colors, shapes, and symbols are often more articulate and significant to the therapeutic process. There is no prior art experience required!
Unprocessed traumatic experiences often are held in the nervous system and reinforce negative beliefs about the self. EMDR has the potential to reprocess these difficult memories and work to shift harmful beliefs. I am EMDR trained, and have had powerful results treating adults with childhood trauma through EMDR. I believe this model in combination with art therapy and transpersonal counseling can provide a very effective multimodal approach to treating trauma.
