About My Clients
I love working with clients who are motivated to better themselves. I work with adult individuals (18+) who are wanting to lean into their strengths and to add some practical skills where needed. People who are interested in mindfulness skills, ACT, and ecopsychology to manage anxiety, depression, life transitions, among other concerns are typically a good fit.
My Background and Approach
I have an eclectic work history that includes managing a homeless shelter in rural NC, wilderness therapy, transitional therapy programs, and most recently as a career coach at a local university. I interned at Foundations Asheville in Asheville, NC and Full Circle Community Wellness in Hendersonville, NC as part of my graduate school experience. I have a bachelors degree in Social Work from App State and a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal philosophy is that the key to a meaningful life is to attempt to relieve as much suffering as possible from the world. To live by these values, my entire professional career has been geared towards helping others in many different capacities as well as living an entirely vegan lifestyle. My interests outside of therapy include hiking (I am an Appalachian Trail thru hiker), disc golf, cooking, reading science fiction novels, and spending time with my wife, friends, and family.
