Families. You can live with them, and you can’t live without them, am I right? Whether you are born into a family, or you choose your own, you may be a part of more than one family system. Regardless of the configuration, many family groups experience challenges and issues that often lead to conflict. Much like counseling for individuals, the work in family therapy is focused on improving relationship dynamics and breaking old habits.

For my younger clients, I rely heavily on play therapy. I find that play allows children to communicate with the world around them, manage their emotions, build relationships, and transform into healthy adults – using a language they fundamentally understand.

One size does not fit all when it comes to therapy. I will cater to your needs and individuality because the most important person in the room is YOU. This is your journey and I am here to support and facilitate in whatever way necessary.

I understand that anxiety affect people in different ways, which is why I take a personalized approach to patient care. Therapy for anxiety begins with your therapist getting to know you and your mental health and personal history. We’ll spend time discussing any “sticky points” in either your past or your current situation that may be impacting you so we are able to build a more comprehensive treatment plan to deliver life-long results. Managing your anxiety disorder is possible!

For my adolescents, I let them steer the ship. I offer a safe space for them to work through their problems and emotions. I often blend cognitive-behavioral and rational-emotive approaches to expand adolescents’ thinking, and to help them work through feelings and issues of identity in a healthy way. By brainstorming about problems and solutions, teens learn to manage their emotions in a healthier, more productive way!

Child Therapy helps children under 12 years of age to work through issues of trauma, stress, emotional, and social obstacles, as well as to increase their enjoyment, relaxation, and ability to learn. I often blend play therapy with cognitive behavioral therapy in a developmentally appropriate, meaningful way. This helps encourage children to master their fears and impulses, and promotes the development of coping skills, and changing negative behavior patterns.
