About My Clients
I am passionate about working with teen and young adult clients who want to overcome struggles with depression, anxiety, trauma, disordered eating, LGBTQ+ issues, and more. If you want to learn healthy ways to manage your emotions, heal from traumatic events, or gain insight into facets of your identity, I might be the right therapist for you!
My Background and Approach
I have my Master's degree in Art Therapy and Counseling. I am an LPCC in the state of California, and a Registered Art Therapist with the ATCB. I am EMDR trained, with additional training in the use of EMDR to treat eating disorders. I take an eclectic approach to treatment, and want my clients to feel empowered to tell me what they do or don't want from their sessions. I mainly use a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I take an intersectional, informed, compassionate approach to my work with all clients. I want anyone I work with to feel understood and not judged, no matter their identity, lifestyle, or background. As a queer trans therapist, I can relate to the experiences and struggles of others in the LGBTQ community. As a white therapist, I recognize the ways in which POC and other minority groups have been disenfranchised from seeking mental health services or received subpar treatment. I hope that I can provide a safe and welcoming space for any person who comes to me, and I am always challenging myself to learn more. After the Almeda Fire in Southern Oregon, I helped to found a trauma-informed community art studio to provide a space for people to process the devastation together. Since then, we have transformed our studio into an ongoing Art Hive model, with dedicated studio times for trans folks, people in recovery from addiction, and more.
