My gateway into Mental Health was through Meditation and Yoga. After my own personal struggles in spiritual community, I learned about trauma and attachment and their effects on the Nervous System and Psyche. I did years of my own trauma processing with the assistance of a Somatic Experiencing therapist who also worked in a Psychedelic Model. I then went on to study Hakomi, Somatic Experiencing, Integrative Psychiatry, and Psychedelic Medicine to craft a truly holistic approach to Mental Health treatment. I have training in Biomedical models of Psychiatry, as well as more progressive and systemic approaches. In addition to my personal experience and training, I have the experience of having family members with mental illness, and understand the issues from many vantage points. I am one of the new wave of psychiatrists who entered into the field inspired my psychedelic psychotherapy, and can integrate high level psychotherapy into our psychedelic work.

I believe that trauma and blame are at the root of many of our psychological issues. These traumas are a direct result from our cultural, environmental, familial, and economic legacies and form a circular causal loop that keeps us stuck. We need to transform our personal and cultural relationships to trauma, self, other, and environment. Often times the best place is to start with one's self, and that is where I can most be of benefit to you. The most profound healing also happens in relationship, thus I deeply support Group Process work, couples therapy, and family systems approaches. We need to see the roots of our problems without denial and blame, all the while anchored in the safety of our bodies. When anchored in this manner, deep transformational work can occur. Transformational work can often be assisted with catalytic agents such as Ketamine.
