About My Clients
If you find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, career or loneliness and disconnection, you are clearly not alone, given how many therapists there are here! Whether you are in a big-time life transition, or just navigating the day to day, our work together will help you feel more engaged with the important people, work, and choices in your life.
My Background and Approach
I practice a powerful mindfulness-based intervention called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Often psychological pain has more to do with how we fight and judge our thoughts and feelings, and we end up in an exhausting internal struggle that we cannot win. We will work together to explore this struggle, gain distance from it, get present, and learn skills and strategies to reduce its’ impact and influence on your life. Mindfulness-based psychotherapy involves increasing a compassionate awareness of our thoughts and feelings. We can learn to step back from these painful experiences and be more engaged with life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I firmly believe growth is possible at every stage, and that growth begins with self-curiosity, self-awareness, self-compassion, and courage. And that while we can do some of this work alone, at some point in our lives we need to also do this work with other people. I hope to be one of those people you allow to be on your team. And even though psychotherapists are often seen to be in the “expert” role, I see our work as us both being on our own mountains that we need to climb - I just have a better vantage point to see what your obstacles might be!
