About My Clients
My clients frequently describe themselves as stressed, anxious, and/or depressed. They are unhappy in their career, relationships, and life in general. Overwhelm, self criticism, and shutdown can come easily. A lot of my clients identify as people-pleasers, planners, and perfectionists. Underneath all of this is frequently self doubt and shame. I frequently find that my clients have a history of trauma, particularly difficulty in childhood.
My Background and Approach
I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). I offer in-person and virtual mental health counseling to adults living in Oregon. I have experience working in a variety of mental health settings, including community-based clinics and hospice agencies. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and honest. I draw upon a range of evidence-based counseling strategies and tailor my interventions to fit your needs. Person-centered therapy forms the foundation of my therapeutic approach. This means that I strive to understand you and all of your unique qualities as well as provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space to explore your concerns. I integrate attachment, IFS or "parts" work, and Somatic Experiencing/body-based approaches through a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens. In our sessions, we'll explore what’s working and what's not, get to know you better, and create the life that you want to live.
