About My Clients
I work with a wide range of people both within and without the LGBTQ community. I have experience dealing with issues ranging from anxiety and depression, grief and loss, and issues related to gender and sexual identity. I also work extensively with individuals suffering from addiction. For me, finding meaning and purpose is paramount to maintaining one's mental health. As such I work in collaboration with my clients to help find those things that make one feel whole and connected.
My Background and Approach
My approach is strengths-based. I begin with talk therapy and incorporate various theoretical approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My practice is client-centered, so I work in tandem with my clients to adopt a treatment plan that most effectively creates emotional equilibrium.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to social justice and ensuring that all people are treated with dignity and respect. As such, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space in which to explore the needs of my clients. My approach is both sex positive and gender positive, which allows my clients the freedom to explore all aspects of themselves in a healthy and open way. As someone who follows Buddhist traditions, I base my practice on mindfulness and believe that meaning and purpose is an essential part one's well-being.
