About My Clients
My clients span the gender & sexuality spectrums, and seek therapy to address: trauma, sexual dysfunction/dissatisfaction, (in)fertility/pregnancy/parenthood-related concerns, anxiety, and OCD. I tend to be a good fit for clients who are: looking for a collaborative, warm therapeutic relationship where we're both engaged and committed to working on your goals; open to new perspectives, approaches, and feedback; motivated to make change and eager to apply insights & skills learned in session.
My Background and Approach
Clients describe me as warm, calm, caring, and honest. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe to be vulnerable with me, as well as to build as strong therapeutic relationship. I provide feedback in a direct, warm manner, and also encourage you to give me feedback, as this is a crucial part of building a strong therapeutic relationship, which is the foundation of therapeutic success. Given my training in social work, as well as feminist & gender studies, I am keenly aware of the ways in which all aspects of your life (work, relationships, physical health, sexual functioning, identity, politics, culture, etc.) may impact your mental health, which I take into consideration in treatment planning. Together we may also explore the ways in which societal/cultural/religious norms actually serve you, and which do not, in order to build a life authentic to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You are the expert of yourself. We are all complex beings with the capacity for change. Everyone is worthy of love, safety, and compassion. Life takes a village. Healing occurs interpersonally, in connection with others.
