About My Clients
My ideal client is one who will feel at home with me. You will feel most at home if you are ready to dive in and do the work. If you are struggling with symptoms of past trauma, navigating current or upcoming life changes, peri/pre/postnatal life, or noticing that life isn’t going the way you want it to, you will likely feel at home in my practice. I will meet you where you are at in life, though it is key that you feel ready to do the work. I will provide an empathetic yet honest environment.
My Background and Approach
My background is focused on clinical psychology, pedagogy/child development and special education, trauma informed care, including certifications in TF-CBT and EMDR, as well as DBT and CBT.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value treating all life with empathy and compassion, and have a big heart for animals. While I am not personally part of the LGBTQ+ community or BLM movement, I consider myself an ally. I am highly aware of my status and experience as a straight, cisgender white woman in society, and recognize that this experience differs vastly from those who may identify differently, as well as from of people of color in our society. As I hold a privileged position in our society, I aim reduce bias as much as possible, and enter a therapeutic space that holds equal value, yet acknowledgement of the differences in experience we may have. I approach my clients with curiosity and invest in learning about your experience and how crosscultural values and experiences impact your life.
