About My Clients
Are you feeling like you have a lot to offer, but anxiety, depression, trauma, and other events get in the way? Do you feel like you are holding yourself back? Do you keep yourself busy and distracted so that you don't have to address the feelings that might arise in the stillness and quiet? I am here to help you identify, explore, and gain understanding of these barriers to move toward acceptance and appreciation of who you are, where you come from, and discover how you want to move forward.
My Background and Approach
I like to discover with clients the approach that might work best for them. I do not see myself as the expert - you are the expert of your experience - I am the witness and guide to your process. I have training in IFS, EMDR, ACT and other modalities which I find helpful in connecting our brains and bodies to process difficult emotions and build meaning in our lives. I also have a background in expressive therapy and I believe theater and improvisation can be wonderful ways to stay present, take risks, explore parts of ourselves, and connect with ourselves and others. If appropriate, I may use creative approaches to access and process these issues. I look forward to participating in this exploration with you and helping you reach your goals! Currently I have very limited openings during the day.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all struggling, sometimes together and sometimes alone. We all deserve to be witnessed and heard, to learn that we have resources and allies, and that we can access healthy parts of ourselves in order to live the life that we want. I have deep passion for supporting the LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities. I believe in social justice, and do this work because I believe that accessing our best selves can only help the world to be a better place.
