Being a teen can be challenging, confusing, and overwhelming! Teens can feel that they are the only ones dealing with a problem and might be too afraid to reach out to their parents or even their own peers. I have experience in working with teens on a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, ADHD, depression, neurodiversity, self-esteem, and life transitions . I believe that having a strong therapeutic relationship and being authentic are the most important aspects of treatment.

From perfectionism to social anxiety, I have experience in helping children, teens, and young adults with overcoming their anxiety. Anxiety is a normal adaptive response we have as humans but it can often take control of our lives. Although relaxation exercises may help to reduce your anxiety, the benefits are often temporary. Through our work together, I will help you learn how to get anxiety to let go of its grip and for you to take back control.

My experience with autism started in 2012 when I was working as an ABA behavioral interventionist. I felt the need to learn more about family systems and how to help individuals beyond behavioral changes. In my current practice as a therapist, I help individuals and families work on building closeness and understanding. I am a supporter of neurodiversity and believe in helping individuals thrive within their own experience.

I incorporate DBT techniques into my treatment. DBT teaches clients how to live in the moment, cope with distress, regulate their emotions, and improve relationships with others. DBT has four modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Trying to control unpleasant emotions is often counterproductive. ACT is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that helps clients move from avoiding and struggling with their emotions towards learning to accept them and commit to change. To put it simply, it is about being present, opening up, and doing what matters. ACT is empirically supported and used for a variety of life’s challenges.

Attachment-based therapy is process based and focuses on looking at the connection between the client’s early attachment experiences and their current challenges. The goal is to help clients rebuild trust and develop healthy ways of coping.
