About My Clients

On the surface, things look good. But quietly—underneath it all—you feel stuck. You appear successful on the outside as a professional, creative, caregiver, or high-achiever. Outwardly you are accomplished, but inwardly you struggle with feeling disconnected, flat, or that you're always bracing for something to go wrong. You find it hard to relax, trust others, or shake the sense that you're never quite enough, no matter how much you do. You can live a more satisfied and connected life.

My Background and Approach

I’m interested in how your current struggles are shaped by your early relationships and unspoken emotional experiences. We all carry forward unconscious patterns—ways of relating to ourselves and others—that once helped us survive but may now be keeping us stuck. Our work together helps bring those patterns into awareness, so you can begin to feel more choice, more space, and more connection in your life. A central part of my approach is grounded in attachment theory. This means I pay close attention to how your earliest relational experiences may have shaped your sense of self, your ability to trust, and the way you navigate closeness, vulnerability, and independence. I also draw from Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), a therapeutic approach that supports your ability to reflect on your own thoughts and feelings—as well as those of others. When we’re under stress, it’s easy to lose that reflective capacity and become overwhelmed by assumptions or emotional reactivity.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the capacity for change. But therapy isn't about quick fixes or surface-level coping tools. It's about understanding why you feel the way you do, so you can move toward a life that actually feels like yours—more grounded, more present, more connected. I utilize a psychodynamic theory to understand human behavior, which means that I am curious about how past relationships and relational experience influence out personalities and how we relate to ourself and others now. I promise that this is not your grandfather's psychoanalysis! It is incredibly important to me that my clients feel that I understand and empathize with them throughout the entire process. I have the utmost respect for any individual, couple, or family that is willing to do the hard work. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. I would be happy and excited to tell you more about how I work and what you can expect out of our time together.
