About My Clients
Nick’s professional experiences include working with abuse and trauma, substance abuse and addiction, helping adolescents and their families, and a specialty in working with couples of all types. He currently focuses on working with couples (dating, pre-marital, married) using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).
My Background and Approach
Nick has completed training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is his primary approach for couples and most individuals. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which has been proven 70% effective in healing trauma. Nick also introduces mindfulness into his practice to help clients cope with distress. Nick completed his Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy at Saint Mary’s University-Twin Cities in Minneapolis, MN. He is a member of the Arizona Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and the Arizona Community of Emotionally Focused Therapists (AZEFT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Through warmth, care, and integrity, Nick helps to heal the wounds and hurts that can accumulate in life and relationships. Similar to physical wounds that can hurt and leave scars, we can have emotional and relational wounds that can be equally painful. However, Nick believes that we all have the amazing ability as humans to not only endure, but to mend and heal from our pain. He is passionate about helping and guiding those who are on their own unique journey to healing and wholeness.
