I work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and identities, and am unilaterally LGBTQ+ affirming.

My Background and Approach

I am a graduate counseling student with Lamar University currently obtaining their practical experience hours. I am unilaterally LGBTQ+ affirming, as is Vervewell. To me, it is the task of therapy to equip clients with the skills and tools they need for three key aspects of life: understanding themselves and what they want, changing negative and unhelpful thoughts into helpful ones, and gaining control over pain and other strong emotions. Using a combination of CBT, DBT, and SFBT, we will work both to heal and prepare.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

To me, it is the task of therapy to equip clients with the skills and tools they need for three key aspects of life: understanding themselves and what they want, changing negative and unhelpful thoughts into helpful ones, and gaining control over pain and other strong emotions. From a social perspective, I operate from a social justice perspective and support the LGBTQ+ population.
