A fundamental approach to my method of therapy is developing a therapeutic relationship built on compassion and authenticity. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and adolescents in their transitions in life, relationships, depression/anxiety, stress, grief and loss. I provide LGBTQ affirmative therapy, in that this population will be treated with a caring and welcoming environment. I am trained in evidence based Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
The populations I work with are, preteens/teens ages 11 and up both male and female. I also provide individual and couples therapy for adult men and women. My areas of focus are depression, anxiety, grief, stress, career/workplace issues, parenting skills, negative parent/child relationships, and helping heal marital issues
Many of us feel exhausted by self-doubt and a lack of things going "right" in our lives. These struggles don't have to rule over you. Feelings of overwhelming guilt, fear and sadness are often road blocks to fulfilling life we all crave. Many of my clients feel stuck in old patterns, and seek ways to make the changes they know they need. I invite clients to experience the profound changes they have been seeking by working collaboratively with them to achieve all their goals.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
Most of the individuals drawn to me are people who find themselves in the midst of a transition in their life. Many are college students, transplants, frequent travelers and interstate commuters who want a consistent presence to check in at a time when change is not only inevitable but overwhelming.

Couples who are engulfed in loneliness, even in each other's presence, yearn for the safety and security they once shared. They’ve tried everything from pouring their hearts out, yelling in frustration, giving each other the silent treatment, and even trying to ignore their problems altogether. Couples end up exhausted and estranged from one another. The solution lies in dismantling walls and rebuilding trust, intimacy, and connection.
You and your needs are the focus! Whether you are dealing with issues of disappointment, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life/career transitions, or relationship difficulties, I want to walk alongside you to give you support and guidance back to your internal well-being. I tailor the treatment process to meet individual needs, using various methods to treat life challenges. I help clients rediscover themselves while developing coping skills and strategies for continued growth.
Each individual's course of depression and anxiety is unique, so I approach each treatment plan with the time and care that it needs. I focus on helping clients notice strengths, feel less alone, and improve relationships.Maybe you feel alone, sad, and empty. Perhaps you have been struggling with these thoughts and feelings for a long time. Even now, you might wonder “do I even need therapy”? You’re not alone- many struggle for years before seeking counseling.

My clients battle with a range of issues: identity, depression, anxiety, life transitions, communication, self-esteem, trauma, shame/guilt, personality. Clients describe me as a "direct" therapist, meaning, I am able to empathically tell them the truth or assist them in holding themselves accountable for what they are trying to change.
