About My Clients
Thanks for stopping by! I'm currently full and not accepting new clients at the moment. My clinical experiences are in helping clients address issues regarding complex trauma, cultural identity and assimilation, developing boundaries, grief and loss, emotional neglect, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and relationships. I also enjoy working with individuals who identify with geek culture, LGBTQIA+/SGM, and BIPOC/cultural minority communities.
My Background and Approach
I received my Psy.D in Clinical Psychology from Adler University, where I completed my dissertation on the interpersonal relationships of adult MMORPG video gamers. I've worked with individuals across the lifespan in community mental health centers, in-patient hospitals, university college counseling settings, and group practice. In my therapeutic work, I integrate Psychodynamic Theory and trauma-informed neuroscience (IPNB) into a body-oriented, relational talk therapy (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy). I believe the ways we manage and respond to stress are informed by our early relationship experiences. Our brains are designed to connect with each other through our emotions and to heal within a safe, secure relationship. Because of this, I guide us slowly and gently within your nervous system's own window of tolerance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is my sincere belief that the relationship I build with my client serves as the most critical part of therapeutic healing. Overwhelming, painful, and traumatic experiences can leave us feeling invalidated and insecure. My goals are to create a space for you to be seen and heard, to be a first-hand witness to your story, and to connect you with the knowledge to help you move towards the changes you want to see in your life.
