About My Clients

When working with clients, I integrate a range of therapeutic techniques from family systems, attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and experiential modalities. I often incorporate expressive arts and utilize both directive and non-directive methods of play therapy with children. I hold a particular interest in working with children ages 2-14, parent coaching, couples and family therapy, and supporting clients through grief and loss, life transitions, and the processing of trauma.

My Background and Approach

I am a Child Development Specialist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate with dual master's degrees from Texas Woman’s University. After many years in non-profit and early childhood education serving children and families, my passion for serving this population led me to return to school to pursue licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy. During this time, I honed my clinical skills at the Irving Family Advocacy Center and gained invaluable experience working with diverse clients, focusing on crisis intervention, complex trauma, abuse and neglect, play therapy, and high-conflict families. I have completed Levels 1 and 2 of the Gottman Method for couples and incorporate these evidence-based techniques into my practice.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Central to my therapeutic approach is the belief that our relationships define and shape us, making the context of our interactions the key to understanding and addressing any challenges we face. With a deep commitment to relational therapy, I work collaboratively with children, couples, families, and adults, fostering a transformative therapeutic experience through a non-pathologizing, trauma-informed, and strengths-based perspective. I firmly believe in the unwavering resilience of the human spirit, the possibility of finding meaning in our suffering, and the inherent potential for change, growth, and recovery of lost skills within us all. Often, our deepest moments of pain become catalysts for personal growth and greater authenticity in our relationships with ourselves and others. I count it a privilege to witness the remarkable courage and vulnerability of my clients as they navigate challenging life experiences and embrace healing and self-discovery.
