About My Clients
My strengths in the field include working with therapeutic topics along the lines of anxieties, life changes, relationship difficulties, and personal identity issues. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults from a range of cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and affectual orientations. I am open and accepting of all backgrounds and I understand the importance of working to challenge implicit biases that I hold on a daily basis.
My Background and Approach
In the interest of building a therapeutic relationship, I think it’s important that you know a bit more about me. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I completed my internship in a community mental health setting, and gained extra experience with a telehealth internship during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was lucky to be able to get an understanding of the differences between virtual and in-person counseling, and the unique considerations that each requires.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
On a more personal note, my passion is, and always has been, animals! I believe in the magical healing power of pets of all kinds and am working toward a specialization in Animal Assisted Therapy. Emotional Support Animals have also become popular in the past few years, and can increase the quality of life for many people. I would love to help clients harness the benefits of human-animal interactions by providing ESA letters and Animal Assisted Therapy.
