About My Clients
I work with adults of all ages living with chronic illness and am especially passionate about working with BIPOC, immigrant, first-gen, and LGBTQIA+ young adults who navigating trauma, chronic illness, and caregiving roles alongside school, work, and family responsibilities.
My Background and Approach
For the past 10 years, I've worked with immigrant communities, which has shaped a practice that's deeply trauma-informed and culturally attuned. As someone with lived experience of chronic illness myself, I understand how culture, family roles, and generational expectations shape the way we relate to illness, responsibility, and rest. I know how hard it can be to slow down when you were raised to push through and not complain. I'm also a bit of a therapy geek. I've trained in EMDR, CBT, narrative therapy, and ACT so I can tailor our work to what actually fits you. I have extensive experience working with clients new to therapy, so I tend to be transparent about why I'm suggesting something, so you feel empowered to choose the direction we take together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe growth in therapy happens within the context of safety. A solid relationship with a therapist helps us feel secure enough to try new strategies and work through guilt, shame, and anger without worrying about being judged. I also know trust isn't always easy to extend. That's why I work hard to honor that you are the expert of your own life, and I use a compassionate approach to build a relationship where you feel truly heard, validated, and seen.
