About My Clients
I have worked in both private practice and higher level of care, such as PHP and IOP. I believe this gives me a unique perspective to bring into my sessions. I have experience working with individuals struggling with distorted eating and body image, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, boundary setting, and more. I also enjoy meeting with couples and being that safe space for partners to work on their relationship.
My Background and Approach
It is important to me to see my clients through a holistic perspective. I will take into account your physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental experiences. I understand that what may work with one client may not work with another, so I often pull from different treatment modalities to best meet the needs of my clients. A few include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, supervised by Bessie Ann Christenson, MAMFC, LPC-S. I received both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. When I am not counseling, you might find me eating Mexican food with my husband, walking or snuggling our dogs, participating in some self-care by cleaning, or reading a good book.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
People were created for connection and with this distinct need in mind, it serves as a reminder that we were not made to go through life alone. I take pride in walking alongside clients and creating a partnership that hopefully ends in more understanding, healing, and growth. As a therapist, my job is not to judge, give advice, or even make the hard and overwhelming stuff go away. However, I can foster a safe environment for you to know that you’re not alone nor too broken, give you tools to better sit or work through those hard things, and help you access the strength that you already possess.
