About My Clients
The people I work with are often curious about their relationship with substances. They wonder, “Why do I keep going back to this?” or “Could life feel easier without it?” Together we unpack those questions, find what’s driving the pattern, and build realistic ways to cope, connect, and heal—without judgment or pressure to fit a specific mold.
My Background and Approach
I became a counselor after facing my own struggles with substance use. I know what it’s like to feel buried and have to dig yourself out. That experience shaped my approach—real, kind, and collaborative. I’m a CADC-I trained in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction. Sessions are conversational and grounded; I start and end with check-ins and build from what’s working or what’s hard that week. Clients describe me as warm, funny, and deeply present. I believe in creating a safe space where honesty, humor, and healing can coexist.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe recovery is rooted in resilience and choice. You’re not responsible for what hurt you, but you are responsible for your healing. Recovery isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress, grace, and learning to get back up. I meet clients where they are, whether that means harm reduction or full abstinence. When desired, I offer Christian counseling and believe the Lord can bring healing when we lay our burdens at His feet. My goal is to plant hope that change is always possible, even when it feels far away.
