My Background and Approach
I am a Cognitive Behavioral therapist trained in best practice recommendations for PTSD and Insomnia. I have over 23 years working with active duty and veterans in DoD and VA. So, I know trauma and have witnessed people recover. I bring this depth of experience into every session to make a unique treatment plan to help you reach your goals. People with traumatic experiences sometimes suffer in silence or are told "to get over it". It creates problems in relationships, physical health, and living life fully. There are several well researched treatments I offer to help you move forward and honor your lived experiences. I also work with people struggling with anxiety, worry, and managing daily struggles that get overwhelming. You don't have to do it alone and I enjoy seeing people grow and move forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice is inclusive and affirming. Everyone deserves to feel better and get help. I also believe and have seen the remarkable strength and resilience of humans. While the work can be hard and heavy, I also tend to find areas of humor and joy in our work together. I love Alabama football but it's ok if you don't and even cheer for a rival!
