My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the right to self-determination and grow into the human being that they want to be. People can grow and recovery from all forms of mental health struggles that are negatively impacting their life. There is no limit to the humans' ability to improve their quality of life and achieve the goals that they want. Trauma and maladaptive coping strategies can impact many different facets of a person's life such as relationships, view of self-esteem and self-worth, and mental health such as anxiety and depression. Everyone has the capacity to learn better coping strategies that can impact their behavior and thought process which will improve their quality of life. As a child, I experienced multiple trauma experiences that impacted my relationships with others and my view of self. Through therapy, I experienced a freedom from living through my past experiences and learned to forgive others.
