About My Clients
You may be looking for a therapist for a myriad of reasons: You're overwhelmed by life. You're struggling to cope with the day to day responsibilities. You have little support or people to turn to. You want to learn more about why you are the way you are. You realize you are coping in ways that don't feel healthy or productive. You feel like your emotions are a roller coaster of ups and downs. There are many reasons we may need extra support in our life.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master's in Clinical Social Work (MSW) from Seattle University and have formal training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (C-DBT). I have experience working with clients with a range of challenges and diagnoses at a variety of care levels including community outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization (IOP/PHP). I have taught skills to groups of adults in a therapeutic setting for over five years. Although I specialize in DBT, I often use a multi-modality approach of DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. In addition to my clinical work, I have over ten years of experience working in social justice and grassroots initiatives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I think of myself as a collaborator, ready to meet you wherever you're at within your process. Although I specialize in DBT, I often use a multi-modality approach to best support your needs within a session. I have a background working in social justice initiatives and utilize an anti-oppresive lens that is an inclusive and safe space for all identities.
