I have worked with addicts, alcoholics, and gamblers for many years, going as far back as 2003. I believe each day is a new day to learn something new about yourself. If you have a relapse you pick yourself up and assess yourself and get back on the wagon and be more open with yourself and your support system to help you get back on track with your recovery. I believe in being resilient and bouncing like a ball and not breaking like an egg. Life is going to challenge you each and everyday!

I am able to talk openly with you about whatever issues that you're having with your marriage, when it comes to sex, your anxiety revolving around sex, and things that you might be embarrassed about telling your partner. I truly have a judgement free zone and I have already seen many things in life as I am 50 years old and I am here to help you overcome whatever challenges that you're facing.

I created an anger management program when I was working for the DoD and helping Soldiers with domestic abuse, PTSD, and anger control issues. You have to be willing to admit that you have a problem before you can start working on the problem. I am direct and will confront you and will hold you accountable. I don't shy away, get my feelings hurt, and I don't give up on my clients. I don't have a problem when my client's curse or use foul language. Its okay to just tell it like it is!

I have worked in the field focusing on men's issues and providing therapy for more than the past ten years. I have had a great deal of success helping clients to become more aware of their stressors, biases', rage, and the cues of when they are getting angry and coping skills of what to do when they get angry. Anger is a healthy and normal feeling however how we respond to that anger is what determines if our anger is going to be destructive, dysfunctional, and will hurt others.

I have worked with adolescents when I was in the Marines back in 2001 and started working with adults in 2003. I have led groups and I have worked with clients whom were in drug court. I believe in being honest with my clients and will hold them accountable and I am open to talking with them about everything that involves their addiction from trauma to their use, to the dysfunction that they grew up in as a child.

I have experience working with men and some of them have been diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder, problems with porn addiction, addiction, cheating behaviors. I have worked with men and their issues for the past 10 years and have helped them understand more things about themselves and have helped them to grow and to want to change from within.

Micheal uses motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and ACT.

Micheal has worked with many Veterans, Soldiers, spouses, and clients in the past and has extensive experience dealing with anger management. Micheal with work with the client to figure out what coping skills will work for each of them individually. Micheal will help the client to understand the anger that is held within so the client can understand it and learn how to regulate it. Micheal says that Anger isn't the problem its how you use it to get what you want.

Micheal has provided counseling in a treatment setting for drug and alcohol since 2002 as an individual therapist to a group counselor. Micheal has worked for drug court, some of his clients will go to AA and NA meetings, and Micheal will write letters to the court for proper documentation. Micheal encourages his clients to get the help and support that they need from various entities so that his client’s don’t become dependent on him as their therapist.

CBT is used in so many different therapies such as motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and each of these I have attended trainings and in each of these Micheal has years of experience in providing these interventions.

Micheal believes that his years of extensive experience is what helps him to be able to help his clients to learn how to effectively manage and to deal with their anger related issues. Micheal states that many times the clients will be able to connect the dots as to how they learned to act and be abusive towards others. Micheal says that anger is a healthy emotion until one becomes enraged and is abusive towards those in their line of fire.
