About My Clients

I work with LGBTQIA+ adolescents and adults exploring identity, trauma, relationships, and transition. I center trans and gender-expansive clients and offer an affirming space for curiosity, healing, and self-discovery. Whether you’re processing the past or imagining new possibilities, we’ll move at your pace — with compassion, openness, and care.

My Background and Approach

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years as an actor, teaching artist, and professor — work that taught me to listen deeply, attune to nuance, and honor story. I bring that sensitivity into the therapy room, where I approach each client with care, curiosity, and respect. My practice is relational, trauma-informed, and rooted in anti-oppressive values. I center collaboration, move at your pace, and meet you as a whole person — because therapy works best when you feel seen and supported as you are.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My path to becoming a therapist began with activism. I’ve been involved in LGBTQIA+ rights work since I was 14, when I took on my high school’s ugly track record of homophobia. From there, I organized local protests, testified before the state senate to help pass anti-bullying legislation, and partnered with national organizations to push for change. That lifelong commitment to justice eventually brought me to social work, where I continue to advocate for and support the community. Most recently, I worked as a therapist embedded within RUSH University Medical Center’s gender-affirming care program, supporting Trans and Gender Nonconforming clients through every stage of transition. I also bring a longtime Buddhist practice into my work — grounding sessions in mindfulness, presence, and compassion. I believe therapy is both a political and spiritual act: a chance to be seen, to return to yourself, and to imagine new ways of being in the world.
