I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and of educational information. Many times, my clients believe that they are the only ones who are having a certain experience. In our work together, I often let them know that many others have similar experiences. I believe that having tools to cope can be empowering, and at the end of the day, I want people to know how to effectively manage symptoms they may be having.
As a provider, I welcome conversations about race, racism, culture, oppression, discrimination, immigration, and sexual orientation and the impact they are having in your life. Although I am a white provider, I want my clients to know that they do not have to tiptoe around these hard topics when working with me. Talking about the hard stuff is what I'm here for!
