About My Clients
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Provider. I see people for many types of mental health concerns. My focus is client-centered and existential, which means I focus on you, your perspective, and your unique needs! I practice individual and group therapy that assists clients in freely moving towards meaningful goals and living true to themselves. My goal is to create an environment where you discover who you are and who you would like to become!
My Background and Approach
I practice therapy that is rooted in existential theory which emphasizes that meaning is the substance of our lives, and it gives us a reason to do what we do. It focuses on the fact that we are both free and responsible at the same time. I am eclectic in style so that each session is tailored to the client in a person-centered approach to meet their unique needs in that moment. I draw from various therapies as we work together to best help you reach your goals. A bit about me: I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University, a CACREP accredited program, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Eastern Oregon University. I am currently working on a doctorate in psychology with a clinical specialization. My focus is client-centered, which means I focus on you and your unique needs. I would be happy to join you in your journey toward wellness!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Authenticity is an important part of life, and it is an important part of who I am personally and professionally. It is also an important aspect of the therapeutic relationship. Therapy is a place where you can be open about who you are in order to explore areas of growth while being honest about the process. In that work, it is essential that I also bring my true and authentic self. I work within an existential lens that highlights freedom, responsibility, honesty, authenticity, and the limits of our human existence, because that is who I am as a person and as a professional. In my life, and in my work, I believe that each person has both the right and the responsibility to live freely, fully, and authentically within the world while allowing others to do the same without the imposition of unjust barriers.
