About My Clients
Have you been holding it all together for far too long? Maybe you have different faces you show each part of your world and none of them really feel right anymore. You might be experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression or have trauma that has gone unaddressed. And, you're looking for a place to put all of that down. To figure out how the what worked in the past to survive is keeping you from the life you want to live. To live into who you are in a more real and authentic manner.
My Background and Approach
If you're looking for a trauma professional, I might be your person! I have completed three years of training in Somatic Experiencing (a body based trauma resolution modality) and 6 months of a trauma responsive care certification. Teaching you about how your brain works and how it might have gotten wired to be scared of things that feel like they shouldn't be scary is one of my favorite things. I find that when people understand what is happening and why it is happening, there is a little bit of loosening around the anxiety or depression symptoms you might be experiencing. Self-compassion is another one of the tools I utilize in practice to help you learn how to talk to yourself the same way you might talk to a friend. If you're tired of the never ending cycle of thinking and thinking and more thinking and you want to check out what it might be like to hang out in your body for a minute or two in a safe way, I'd love to schedule a consultation to determine if we might be a good fit!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people have a deep desire and need to be seen, heard, and held and that we heal in relationship with others. I believe that change and healing are possible and sometimes incremental and it is important to have a person (me!) in your corner to help you pay attention differently. I believe in you and the possibilities you want for yourself. Some interesting tidbits about me are that I love spending time outside both solo and with my people, a warm cup of coffee grounds (haha) me and soothes my soul, writing has quite possibly helped me find my own freedom more times than I can count (so when I suggest it to you, know that I’ve done it myself), I exclaim “look at the moon!” whenever the cloud cover clears enough to make it possible to see at whatever phase it is in (there’s a metaphor for life in there somewhere), and I am 100% human – perfectly imperfect and flawed – a lot like you.
