About My Clients
What brings you to therapy will vary. Perhaps you feel disconnected from yourself and those around you? Maybe you feel overwhelmed with the demands of our hectic world? You may have noticed increasing negativity towards your body and preoccupation with food and eating? Or perhaps you want to better understand why certain patterns continue to play out in your relationships? Whatever brings you to therapy at this time, I'm glad you are here and we can tackle these burdens together.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master's degree in Social Work from New York University in 2010. I am passionate about breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and wellbeing. I have extensive experience working with individuals with mental health conditions and underlying trauma, as well as those with lived experience in the criminal legal system. I also specialize in treating individuals with eating disorders, including addressing the correlated issues that go along with it, including body shame and dysmorphia, obsessive compulsive behaviors, anxiety, and perfectionism. I tailor my treatment approach to each individual client, depending on their unique goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The therapeutic relationship – the connection between client and therapist—is crucial for growth and change to occur. This is why I practice a relational style, which builds trust, creates safety, and allows you to bring your full self to our sessions. I value bringing my authentic self into each session—how can I expect you to bring your whole self if I don’t do the same? Our work together is a collaboration and I will maintain a consistent curiosity about your life, encouraging you to examine your thoughts, feelings, and motivations with the same curiosity.
