About My Clients
In a world that makes us feel "not enough," I work with clients to help build self confidence, create and maintain healthy relationships, and foster acceptance. I aim to provide a compassionate, relaxed, and non-judgmental space for clients to bring forth their problems while helping them develop skills that promote healing, change, and resilience. I believe that in exploring our experiences, we can begin to mend and mold what feels out of control or hopeless.
My Background and Approach
I take a very relational and person centered approach based off of the work of Carl Rogers. My goal with each person I sit with is first to listen well, you being the expert on your life and experiences. As we explore your story, I will help you to identify what things are blocking you from becoming who you were created to be and support you in finding the tools you need in order to grow. I attended Dallas Theological Seminary to pursue my interest in the intersection of psychology and Christian spirituality. While passionate about the intersection and integration of faith and psychology, I defer to clients preferences on whether or not they would like these perspectives included in our sessions together. I enjoy working with people of all backgrounds and walks of life and do not see integration as a necessity for each individual's growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that within each person lies an instinctive ability to grow. When a flower is planted, it does not have to be told how to grow. Instead, it must simply be given the right conditions. When given the right environment, it will naturally blossom into the flower it is. As we live our lives, this instinctual ability to grow into our fullest selves can be blocked by the wrong growing conditions such as shame, guilt, suffering, trauma, and abuse. I work with clients to identify what factors are blocking them from becoming the best version of themselves, and empower them to trust their inner voice of love.
