About My Clients
You may look like you’re handling things well on the outside while feeling stressed, disconnected, angry, anxious, or stuck underneath. I work especially well with teens, men, and first responders who want therapy to feel practical, honest, and useful. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s going on, identify patterns that keep you stuck, and work toward healthier relationships, greater confidence, and meaningful change.
My Background and Approach
My approach is practical, collaborative, and relational. I want therapy to be a place where you can speak honestly, better understand what is happening beneath the surface, and work toward meaningful change in everyday life. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and family systems approaches based on each client’s needs. As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, I naturally consider how relationships, family experiences, values, and life circumstances shape the problems we face. Before entering the counseling field, I spent several years working in law enforcement and emergency services, which gives me a particular understanding of the culture and pressures experienced by first responders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy works best when people have a place to be honest without feeling judged, while also being challenged to grow when needed. My style is warm, straightforward, conversational, and practical. I value responsibility, relationships, family, meaning, and helping people build lives that reflect what matters most to them. My Christian faith is central to my own life, and I am comfortable thoughtfully integrating Christian faith, Scripture, and spirituality into therapy when clients desire it. For clients who do not, therapy remains centered on their own beliefs, values, and goals.
