My Background and Approach
Hi, my name is Maydean, and I work with adults struggling to overcome barriers to having a fulfilling life . As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Master Certified Addiction Professional, I have 20 years of clinical experience working with individuals and families who have substance use and addiction disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, codependency/relationship issues, and life transitions. My approach is a strength-based perspective aimed at cognitions and solution-focused results. I would love an opportunity to partner with you on your journey to wellness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Recovery is a word that can be applied to working through any difficult circumstance. Whatever the struggle, you can find balance and peace by learning healthy coping skills. With support, you can create a plan specifically crafted to your life circumstances. I believe that people are good at their core. Sometimes our life experiences (sometimes traumatic) or our genetics or substance use may cause us to act in ways that others don't understand and cause problems for us. I believe people deserve compassion and respect and be able to figure things out without being told in a safe environment. I listen, I teach, I work WITH my clients to figure out what is going on and create a plan to improve things. I am accepting and non-judgemental and have been told by my clients in the past that I am easy to talk to. I want to help people have the best life possible, whatever that looks like.
