About My Clients

You may feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, stuck in recurring relationship patterns, or tired of being treated as “too much.” I work with teens and adults navigating trauma, BPD and other personality disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-harm, chronic suicidal thoughts, identity, sexuality, and intimacy. I especially welcome LGBTQIA+ clients and people exploring kink, polyamory, or ethical nonmonogamy who want therapy without judgment, pathologizing, or having to educate their therapist.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland, a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina, and a National Certified Counselor. I earned my master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology and have nearly a decade of experience in inpatient and private-practice settings, including extensive work with trauma, personality disorders, chronic suicidality, and self-harm. My style is direct, collaborative, practical, and grounded in real life. I will not simply tell you what to do, but therapy with me is also more than vague nodding while you continue repeating the same patterns. I draw from CBT, DBT-informed interventions, ACT, CPT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. Together, we will develop a clearer understanding of what is happening, identify what needs to change, and build strategies you can realistically use outside the therapy room.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people deserve therapy where they can be fully honest without sanitizing their lives for their therapist. Acceptance and accountability can coexist: you can be respected exactly as you are while still having honest conversations about patterns that may be hurting you. For me, affirming care means more than putting a rainbow on a website. LGBTQIA+ clients should not have to educate their therapist, defend their identity, or wonder whether their gender, sexuality, kink, or relationship structure will be treated as the problem. As a bisexual man, providing genuinely inclusive and sex-positive care is both personally and professionally important to me. Outside the therapy room, I am unapologetically nerdy. I enjoy video and board games, reading, traveling, spending time with my family and cats, and using humor—including the occasional bit of sarcasm—when the moment calls for it.
