About My Clients
Over the past decade+, I've worked with hundreds of adults in individual therapy who are looking for freedom from all that keep them in stuck places. While I welcome everyone into my practice, the majority of my clients are men and male-identified folks. My clients are often looking for help in connecting with their inner emotional experience, and my approach to therapy supports clients in doing this.
My Background and Approach
I'm a licensed mental health counselor supervisor (LCMHCS), and offer therapy via telehealth throughout NC. By integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) and mindfulness-based therapy, I work with clients to untangle self-criticism and stuck patterns that can often show up as anxiety and depression. In IFS, we compassionately honor and tend to the "parts" of ourselves that protect us from our wounded parts, so that with time Self is safe enough to emerge. Also, in collaboration with the Watershed Healing Collective, I offer psychedelic-assisted therapy with ketamine to eligible clients. I find that this course of treatment can accelerate the emergence of Self for powerful healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My core motivation for doing this work is my commitment to individual and collective freedom. I believe that part of this commitment is acknowledging the barriers to freedom imposed by the white supremacist capitalist patriarchy, and I welcome exploration of this in my work as a therapist. My lived experience as a bisexual/queer person informs my work with LGBTQ+ identified clients.
