About My Clients
It may be that your ADHD, anxiety or depression is in control of your life and making it difficult to complete simple tasks during the day. Your relationships don’t seem to work out. You lose control of your anger, driving others away, ultimately leaving you full of shame and alone. Or you have harmful emotions and/or behaviors that are running your life. I work exclusively with men to help them address the issues unique to them in order to achieve emotional maturity and lead full lives.
My Background and Approach
I believe counseling begins with a genuine, honest relationship. From there, using an integrative approach, we will the begin the hard work of getting to the root issue of what may need to be untangled in order to achieve your goals. With this approach, I have seen men achieve their counseling goals and move into a more fulfilling life. When we meet, you can expect a laid back, warm, goal oriented, and collaborative environment. We will find tools that will improve your daily wellbeing, while also focusing on healing any deeper issues or past experiences that may be driving your daily struggles. If you are ready to utilize the tools at home and show up honestly in session, you are likely see change begin within a few sessions. If you think you may benefit from counseling, I provide a free 20 minute phone consultation to help you decide if I might be a good fit for helping you achieve your goals. Feel free to call, text or email to schedule.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m a life long Tennesseean, father, husband, fly fisherman, gardener, and most would say a “normal dude”. I am also a male therapist in Nashville, Tennessee and I work exclusively with men and men’s issues. I have extended experience working with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Relationship issues and how they present uniquely for men and filter into every aspect of their lives. I am extremely passionate about helping men understand that so many things that land them in therapy may not be moral failings but instead and unmet need or unconscious responses to our environments that we never learned to regulate. I started Spero Counseling because I found healing, fulfillment and peace were possible through therapy. My therapist gave me tools for daily life and assisted in the healing of wounds underneath my issues and I am extremely passionate in sharing that gift with other men, ultimately impacting the greater community around them.
