About My Clients
I understand the courage it takes to reach out for help. I honor each person's journey and offer a safe place to process, heal, and work towards creating a life they love. My specialties include life transitions, addictions (alcohol, drugs, food, relationships), compassion fatigue, and grief/loss. My clients describe me as understanding, non-judgmental, compassionate, inspiring, and one who offers coping skills, hope, encouragement, and direction as they heal and move forward with their life.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor, as well as a woman in long-term recovery, I bring years of professional knowledge and experience to my private practice. My approach focuses on each individual's needs and is strength-based and trauma-informed. I am an authentic, 'tell it like it is' kind of person who has been described as a bit unconventional, funky, and fun with a love of life that is contagious. I want each individual I encounter to feel seen, heard, and special regardless of their past or current circumstances. We do not have to do life alone!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a woman of deep faith - spiritual not religious - and have been actively involved in the 12-step and other recovery communities for 30+ years. I live a life of love, joy, and gratitude with my husband of 28 years in the foothills of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. I am passionate about my family and my work, doing the best I can each day to create work-life balance so I can enjoy music, Native American art, good food, and traveling - especially to turquoise seas and beaches - as often as life allows. I am often heard reminding others to 'Carpe Diem!' (seize the day)
