About My Clients

Many of my clients struggle in their relationship with food and their bodies. Through healing that relationship, they are free to nurture a stronger relationship with themselves, others and God or their spirituality. Anxiety is a frequent visitor for most of my clients.Several of my clients have also been wounded through trauma and are in need of healing on a deeper level so that they can be empowered to live more fulfilling and purposeful lives.

My Background and Approach

My passion has been to pursue and encourage overall health on physical, emotional and spiritual levels. I have a bachelor’s degree in from Miami University in Oxford, OH , completed my Dietetic Internship at the Medical University of South Carolina and have been a Registered Dietitian since 2001. I have an M.A. in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, GA. Since 2007 I have worked as a therapist and dietitian, with experience that includes individual and group therapy with adults and adolescents. I have specialized training and experience in treating eating disorders, anxiety and trauma, and that training includes EMDR and Brainspotting. I frequently do parts work and teach coping skills from DBT and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.) I provide a Christian approach for those who desire it, while also welcoming those with differing or no religious beliefs. I also am a Certified Enneagram Coach and love using this tool as a guide for growth.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as a Christian and believe in the power of love and grace to live a life of hope and purpose. I believe that love and compassion are the the ingredients necessary for healing the shame that can lead to despair and maladaptive ways of coping. I also value authentic connection and pursuing excellence- but not perfection. I am a wife and mother of two young boys, so I can connect well with those walking through the challenges of parenthood. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, yoga, live music, hiking and watching college basketball. Our beloved dog, Sweet Pea, has been known to assist me periodically in therapy sessions!
