About My Clients
I specialize in working with adults and teens with a variety of concerns ranging from anxiety, depression, and trauma, to relationship/family issues including non-monogynous and polyamory relationships, addiction issues, LGBTQ+ spectrum and life transitions and challenges. I believe that a quality therapeutic relationship is built on trust and authenticity. Therapy is about change and gaining gaining skills, knowledge and confidence in a safe and supportive environment.
My Background and Approach
I am licensed in the state of Ohio where our office is located, and also in the state of Florida as a telehealth provider. I have been practicing as a counseling since 2015 and have worked in a variety of settings. I am certified in Reality Therapy and have had extensive training in trauma-informed approached including DBT and Mindfulness interventions. I understand how issues from our past and our present can sometimes make it hard to live the lives we want to live. I work to make therapy comfortable and supportive so we can tackle life's challenges together. Therapy can be scary and sometimes down-right challenging work, but I believe that it can also be fun and very meaningful. I want my clients to find true value in our work together and I believe that the first start is for me to create an authentic and safe environment in which they can grow and make life-changing decisions. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy should be a meaningful and helpful process. I encourage open discussion about the therapy process and about what I am doing. I love teaching and in turn learning from my clients as I see them as the true expert on their life. I have wanted to become a counselor since I was in middle school because I have always wanted to help people. I want to provide an open and trusting environment in which my clients can grow and we can honor different ethnicities, beliefs, sexuality, and world-views. I may push my clients to achieve their goals but it is always done with sensitivity, kindness and hopefully a bit of fun as well.
