About My Clients
I work with women in their 20s and 30s who have decided to be intentional about their mental health. They are givers, high achievers, self-reflective humans, which often times leads them to experience depression and anxiety. My clients are in the process of identity strengthening and restructuring, which can include grappling with past trauma. Together we work on increasing self compassion, self-esteem, boundaries, and mindfulness.
My Background and Approach
INSIGHT! My background is on Narrative Therapy which means I'm interested in helping clients identify and live according to their preferred life story. Forget the labels and expectations imposed on you by society, and actively decide your values and preferences to live the life you choose. Through our conversations we'll identify the strengths that you've displayed throughout your life and your values, so that you can make decisions based on those. We will shift the way we look at problems, and come up with authentic ways to solve them. SKILLS! I will also provide you with skills to manage upsetting emotions, stay calm during crisis, challenge and replace negative thinking, communicate with your loved ones better, and increase mindfulness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that discourses in society ( ideas about what's right and what's wrong) impact our mental health, and that therapy is a safe space to ensure we are living our most authentic life despite society's expectations. I believe you have the right to decide what you prefer and what you don't prefer in your life, and that you can be empowered to live a life that feels fulfilling based on your preferences. I believe that we all come with and develop strengths that are down played, and that together we can make sure to identify those. I believe that mental health is part of all of us, and therapy should be a de-stigmatized resource.
