About My Clients

My clients are adolescents and younger adults 19-35. My clients are journeying through the process of trauma, bullying issues, high anxiety, stress and depression related to a variety of issues e.g., relationships, work, school, untreated MH disorders and mild to moderate substance use, and depression. Some are working on managing anger, are sensitive to emotional reactivity, learning the body and mind connection, contemplating decisions and more.

My Background and Approach

I have extensive training in various therapeutic methodologies including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cinema-therapy. I specialize in Latinx Mental Health and speak Spanish Fluently. I am a Santa Barbara native and have extensive familiarity with community resources and supports; I provide Case Management. Previous to private practice I worked several years with long standing reputable mental health agencies in the community including those for substance use treatment and at risk youth prevention. I’m also a long standing (over 10 years) Advisory Task Force Committee member for a local youth mentoring program .

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

There's so much I can share about my personal beliefs. I am definitely an advocate for social justice. I'm neutral when it comes to political matters and I'm mindful and respectful of everybody's personal beliefs whether they're religious or political. I'm one of the least judgmental people you'll ever meet and truly believe that there is so much good in the world that we fail to see because of all the injustice and turmoil going on around us. I believe that racism comes in many forms and that people of color are not the only people discriminated against. I feel strongly about respecting our environment and advocating for animals. More than anything though, is my soft spot for families and our communities regardless of socioeconomic status. I especially am fond of supporting parents, at risk youth, and disadvantaged populations. I am on an advisory task force committee for a local mentor program that I hold dear to my heart.
