About My Clients
I have become passionate about working with individuals including teens, young adults, and adults. I am a former school counselor of 16 years so I do have alot of experience with school age children and adolescents and families. I have enjoyed branching out and have found that my college and adult clients are a new found passion of mine!
My Background and Approach
As a former educator and school counselor, I understand the pressures and issues that affect students (all ages) and their families. I can bring real world knowledge to utilize in therapy. I like to use a variety of therapeutic methods including DBT and CBT and enjoy incorporating activities and arts within session. In opening my private practice, however, I have found a love for counseling and treating adults of all ages! While I do see children and teens, I am looking to add adults to my clientele list!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the therapeutic process is very personal and individualized. I like to use an eclectic approach by getting to know my clients, their likes/dislikes, passions, and concerns in order to formulate a treatment plan that is individual to each client. Within that approach, I like to utilize CBT, DBT, and person centered therapy. I am a Christian women; however I am a huge supporter and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and have many clients within that community. However, if a client prefers a more biblical approach I can easily make this happen. All in all, I believe in and support people and try to personalize/customize to each and every one of my clients and their needs.
